We are blessed to have an active and exciting Scouting program here at Wrightsboro United Methodist Church. We currently have about 21 boys in our Cub Scout Pack (typically 1st through 5th grade) and 23 in our Boy Scout Troop (typically ages 10 through 18). Our program is special for many reasons, including the skills that are taught, the character that is developed and the moral and ethical values that are instilled in our scouts. But what makes our program truly special is the way our two units and the church all work together as one family to bring the ministry of Scouting to this community.
The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law. As is often the case, Scouting at WUMC becomes a family activity where everybody in the family contributes, has fun, learns and grows. We consider Scouting to be a true ministry of the church, so we strive to grow and strengthen not only as citizens, but also as Christians.
Our Scouting program is active almost the year round, with all types of skills being taught, community and church service projects, camping and high adventure trips. Nearly everyone can participate in or contribute to these activities in one way or another. Come join us!
